Healthy aging series continues
DERRY — Derry Parks and Recreation and Parkland Medical Center host a Healthy Aging Lecture Series Wednesday, June 18, at 3 p.m. at Alexander-Carr Lodge, 28 Pierce Ave.
Guest speakers are Heather Crowell, substance misuse specialist at Center for Life Management, and Valerie Vigue, clinician and counselor.
The topic deals with why people become addicted to medications, alcohol and other substances, and what signs to look for. The session is geared toward those 55 and older.
The lecture will be followed by a question-and-answer session. The series is free. Call 432-6136 for information.
Alternative, holistic therapy session set
DERRY — Birch Heights retirement facility, 7 Kendall Pond Road, hosts a presentation on alternative and holistic therapies for pain management.
The session is Thursday, June 12, at 2 p.m. and features guest speaker Dr. Dawn Buik of Triskelia Wellness in Derry.
She will offer information on ways to manage pain including chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, yoga and other pain modalities. Call 425-7755.

DERRY — Birch Heights retirement facility, 7 Kendall Pond Road, offers a presentation “Medicare 101: Navigating the Medicare Maze” Wednesday, June 18, at 2 p.m.
Connie Young, representative of ServiceLink, Aging and Disability Resource Center, will lead the presentation and offer information on managing Medicare benefits, what’s available, drug coverage, and much more. Call 425-7755.

DERRY — A program on diabetes risk assessment, education and prevention is offered at Birch Heights retirement facility, 7 Kendall Pond Road, Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m.
