Lady Astros keep rolling

On Sept. 16, the Astros took on the Exeter Blue Hawks in their toughest game so far this season.

Despite multiple scoring opportunities throughout the first half, the Astros were scoreless at the half. Emily Sharrets, Taylor Frost, Emily Hanna and Alison Demirjian were strong on defense.

Goalie Julia Bousquet kept the Blue Hawks off the board for both halves. With less than 20 seconds to play, midfielder Michaela Forand played a ball through the tough Exeter defense. Nicole Gonya beat the defense and the goalie to give the Astros the 1-0 win just before the buzzer.

Lady Astros hold on

On Sept. 17, varsity played an outstanding first half against Timberlane, controlling the ball and creating many dangerous chances. Pinkerton found the back of the net twice (Grace Dipersio assited by Andrea Galvin and Keara Doolan assisted by Aeriela Thornton).

Timberlane came out of half time a different team and controlled much of the first 20 minutes of the second half. They cut the lead to 2–1, but the Astros held on for the win.

A banged-up Sammy Mitchell played outstanding in net, and Aeriela Thornton played equally outstanding in her first game back from injury.


Pinkerton tops the Owls

The JV Lady Astros beat Timberlane, 3-1, Tuesday. JoJo Morse and Kyra Stariknok both scored. Megan Jarvis and Sabrina Thomas added assists. Molly Gingras played well in goal.

Astros hold off Blue Devils

The JV Pinkerton team topped Salem Friday, 4-0.

Freshman Nicole scored the first goal of the game. Marissa Clark and Kyra Stariknok also added a goal. Emily Hallee and Emily Laliberte played well in the midfield.


Young Lady Astros take one

The freshman Lady Astros beat Winnacunnet Sept. 18, 5-1.

Madi Smith scored 2 goals (assists Julia Bousquet and Sarah McLaughlin), Nicole Gonya had a goal (assist Michaela Forania), Sarah McLaughlin added a goal (assist Madi Smith), and Rachel Wood scored.
