Pinkerton stops Nashua North
The Astros faced a very hot Nashua North team and managed to come out with a big 5-1 win.
Nashua North had won four games in a row coming in to this match-up, including wins over Memorial and Salem.
The Astros were led as usual by their captain Dominic Corsetto, who scored twice and added two assists.
The other goals were scored by Connor Brady, Jake Veilleux and Giovanni Corsetto.
Nate Mitchell made 29 saves for the win.
The game was not without loss as one of the Astros’ top defenseman, John Hamilton, suffered what looks like a broken wrist.
Astros crush Plymouth
The JV Astros shut out Plymouth, 10-0.
Pinkerton’s Trent Parker led the way with four goals and Jake St. Jean had a hat trick.
Sean Hall had 17 saves in goal for the shutout.
Skating to a tie
Jr. Astros tie St. Thomas
The JV Astros skated to a 2-2 tie with St. Thomas.
Steve Leonard and Ethan Landry scored for the Astros.
Shamus Doherty added two assists, Mike Bellmore chipped in one and goalie Tom Gillespie stopped 26 shots.
The Astros put pressure on the Saints the entire game outshooting them by a 48-28 margin. Strong forechecking by Jack Bisson, Kailee DeCosmo and Trent Parker contributed to the shot differential.
Lady Astros stay undefeated
The varsity Lady Astros remained undefeated at 14-0 after defeating 12-1 Nashua North, 56-43.
Sam Breslin and Brandi Bonneau led the defense in the fourth quarter, holding a potent North offense to just four points.
Sophomore Val Martin was the game’s top scorer with 20 points.
Astros conquer Blue Devils
The freshman Lady Astros hosted Salem and came away with a 50–32 win.
Molly Gingras had 12 points and five rebounds. Kaitlyn Meskell had 15 points and eight rebounds, and Sarah Kane had six points in the win.
