Firefighters, police battle for ChaD

MANCHESTER — Police officers and firefighters from across the state of New Hampshire will showcase their baseball talents on the diamond at the third annual CHaD Battle of the Badges Autumn Baseball Classic at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 1:35 p.m.

The CHaD Battle of the Badges Autumn Baseball Classic, hosted by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, features police officers and firefighters in a heated contest of “good vs. good” to benefit the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

Representatives from police and fire departments across the state will bring their skills and passion to this spirited match-up. Included on Team Fire are Colton Houle and Dennis Livoli of the Derry Fire Department. Team Fire will be captained by Bill Shea of the Nashua Fire Department and Team Police by Chris Davis of the New Hampshire Division of Liquor Enforcement.

Hundreds of firefighters and police officers have teamed up to raise more than $1 million for CHaD through the Battle of the Badges events, which also includes an annual hockey game.

“There is such a natural connection between our local heroes and our region’s children,” said event manager Danielle Matteau of CHaD. “They have toured the hospital in Lebanon, and visited with CHaD patients. They make a positive impact on both the children and their families.”

Supporters of every age group can partake in this event while raising money. Each player has an individual fundraising goal. Donations are now being accepted through each player’s fundraising and team pages at

Tickets to the game can also be purchased.
