---- — LONDONDERRY —The Londonderry Bolts U11 girls team won the New Hampshire President’s Cup championship.
The New Hampshire Soccer Association sponsors the tournament, a qualifier for the 2013 Region I Tournament, which draws competition from 15 states.
The Londonderry Bolts U11 Girls Team will represent their state in this year’s tournament, which will coincidentally be held in New Hampshire, over Memorial Day weekend.
The team competed in the U12 division and posted a tournament record of 2-0-1 to earn a bid to the title game. They faced Nashua World Cup’s U12 Girls Team, dominated play and won, 2-1.
Brian Ainscough, executive director of coaching for the Greater Boston Bolts, recently visited the team to extend his congratulations for winning this prestigious title.
“It means a great deal to the Bolts organization to see a young team like this develop their skills and succeed,” Ainscough said. “We appreciate how hard they’ve worked and we’re very proud of them.”
Tryout dates for the fall 2013-spring 2014 season have been tentatively set for Tuesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12, at West Road Fields in Londonderry.
U10 and U11 age group tryouts are from 5 to 6:30 p.m. U12-14 age group tryouts are from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
