---- — Lacrosse game to benefit HEADstrong May 13
LONDONDERRY — The second annual HEADstrong lacrosse game between the Londonderry and Andover boys lacrosse teams will be played Monday, May 13, at 4:30 p.m. in Londonderry.
The lacrosse programs of Londonderry and Andover have organized the benefit game to raise awareness for the HEADstrong Foundation. A donation to the HEADstrong Foundation will be made from the teams.
The HEADstrong Foundation’s mission is to carry on the legacy and vision of HEADstrong founder Nicholas Colleluori through advocating, fundraising and supporting those affected by blood cancer and those working toward eliminating it.
The Londonderry team is looking forward to the HEADstrong game on May 13. The LHS players can be seen at school and on the field wearing neon green HEADstrong shirts.
Shoot for the Stars camp scheduled week of July 29
DERRY — The 23rd annual Shoot for the Stars Field Hockey Camp will be held at Rider field in Derry the week of July 29 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Campers from beginners to high school varsity from any surrounding towns are welcome to attend for five or six days ($100 for five days; $115 for six days). Note that some forms went out to last year’s campers with the wrong date on the cover of the camp form.
The camp is being run by former Pinkerton Academy coach Denise Rioux and will be staffed by former Pinkerton assistant and Salem varsity coach Carol Merchant; former PInkerton All-American and current Boston College freshman/U.S. Junior National Team player Jordyn Hamilton; former Pinkerton players Brittany Hawkins, Erin Santuccio and Bailey Randell; and current Pinkerton player Brianne Torre.

Best Buddies NH Tennis Challenge is back
LONDONDERRY — The Best Buddies NH Tennis Challenge tennis tournament is once again being organized by local high school tennis team members and adult volunteers/advisors.
All proceeds will again benefit Best Buddies NH in its goal to establish a state office and expand programs for individuals in local communities with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Last year’s event was a big success, raising more than $7,300 for Best Buddies NH and attracting more than 120 local tennis players, as well as many spectators and supporters.
The Best Buddies NH Tennis Challenge 2013 will be held June 7-9 at the Bedford town courts. The tournament will include men’s, women’s and mixed doubles competition, as well as a junior singles competition and an integrated adaptive tennis social. All levels of players are welcome.

Greater Derry Baseball tryouts approach
DERRY — The Greater Derry Baseball Association will be holding tryouts for the 13U, 14U, and Senior (15 through 17) teams on Sunday, May 19, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Pinkerton Academy junior varsity baseball field.
The 2013 season will begin in June and end in July and will play against similar teams throughout New Hampshire. Player ages are based on their birthdays after Jan. 1 for the 13 and under, 14 and under, and 15- through 17-year-old teams.

Rock Solid Wrestling Camp is July 22-24
DERRY — Derry’s Wrestling Rebels will host the Rock Solid Wrestling Camp at Barka Elementary School July 22-24.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and costs $165. The camp is open to grades 1 through 12.
Rock Bonomo is the former head coach at Lock Haven University, a two-time All American, and is recognized as one of the best youth clinicians in the country. He will be assisted by several of his former wrestlers who have wrestled in the NCAA Division I tournament and are currently coaching various high school programs throughout the country.
