Green Wave tops Pinkerton

The varsity Lady Astros hosted the Dover Green Wave Oct. 17. Brenna McNally had a solid day with 12 kills and 17 digs. Tyla Mahon put up some spectacular blocks, keeping Dover’s dominant attackers in check. Tyla added 5 blocks.

Taylor Ferdinando contributed 13 assists. Brittany Peredna had a strong game at the net, accumulating 8 kills. Michaela Blackwell played well in her debut game. The Astros lost 3–2.

Celebrating seniors in style

Friday night was senior night in the Hackler Gymnasium and the senior Lady Astros came ready to play.

Brenna McNally had another superb game after being recognized as the school leader in kills, digs and aces. She accumulated 25 more digs and 18 kills.

Brittany Peredna had a very strong game defensively, adding 20 digs and 9 kills. Tyla Mahon was huge at the net, putting up 14 kills and 5 blocks.

Jamie Metzger played a strong back row, adding 9 digs. Michaela Polk took charge in the back row, adding 4 digs.

Amanda Stikeman had a strong day setting and added 23 assists as the Astros slid past the Purple Panthers, 3-1.

JV

Junior Lady Astros fall

The JV Lady Astros fell short Oct. 15, 26-24, 15-25, 14-16.

Michaela Blackwell had 8 kills, 3 blocks. Elizabeth Hicks and Fay Harrington made some awesome sets. Hicks had 5 assists and Harrington had 3.

The junior Lady Astros’ attack line did great as well. Mary Anne Tompkins andOlivia Mathieu both had huge blocks on the day and Brittany Capozzi was great as a middle hitter. Erica White had 3 kills and 4 aces.

Pinkerton tops Dover

Last week, JV Lady Astros played particularly well against Dover. They won the match, 2 games to 1. The scores were 21-25, 25-6, 15-10.

Olivia Mathieu had 4 kills and Brittany Capozzi had 5. Khloe O’Brien and Elizabeth Hicks each had 6 assists on the day. Cheyenne Wright had 4 aces for the Astros. The team played great in all aspects of the game.
