Astros blank Dover

The JV lady Astros beat Dover, 4-0, Oct. 17.

DeLeah Barker scored two goals to lead the way for the Lady Astros.

Marissa Clark notched the first goal on a through-ball from Emily Laliberte. The Astros got their 11th shutout in 15 games. Their final record this season was 13-1-1.

Astros get a shutout

The freshman Lady Astros won their game Oct. 16, 3-0.

Jojo Morse, Kelly Murphy and Haleigh Caceres were all goal scorers, all in the second half. Outstanding players were Ashley Gramstorff and Christina Ridenour on defense.

Pinkerton leashes Bulldogs

On Oct. 19, weather ruined plans for the JV State Championships, but Pinkerton’s JV team raced against Bedford at home.

The Astros took the first eight spots and beat the Bulldogs, 15–50.

Owen Clark placed first in a time of 16:54. He was followed by Nick Sevilla (16:59), Getachew Silva (17:12), Ryan Lynch (17:18), Tom Hanlon (17:28), Austin Smith (17:35), Nate Rees (17:51), and Mitch Anzivino (17:51).

Trailblazers finish second

After weather fouled the JV state finals plan, the Pinkerton Trailblazers competed in their own cluster meet against Londonderry and Bedford at home.

The Trailblazers took second with 53 points behind Londonderry with 23. Bedford was third with 57 points.

Leading the way for the Trailblazers was freshman Morgan Sansing, who won the race and ran the fastest time of a Pinkerton runner this season with 19:46.

Taking fifth overall in the race was freshman Vivienne Rouge, with a personal best time of 20:35.

Rounding out the scoring for the Trailblazers were Hannah Pierce, Veronica Sullivan and Kate Sheridan.

Varsity

Astros take playoff win

On Sunday, the varsity Lady Astros opened the playoffs with a win over Bishop Guertin, 4-0.

The score at halftime was 3-0.

Astro Kaylie DeCosmo scored two goals; Julie Saltamartini and Brooke Dorval each scored once.

Julie Saltamartni had two assists.

Kaylie DeCosmo, Rachael Charewicz and Val Martin played well for the Astros.
