Eric Werner and Tom Diskin both had stellar performances on the day, only giving up one goal in 170 minutes of soccer.

Tough loss for Lady Astros
Despite outshooting Merrimack 30-8 and keeping pressure in the Merrimack end 80 percent of the time, the Lady Astros could not find the back of the net last week and lost 1-0 in double overtime.
Maura Kane, Katy Ann Grochmal and Haley Hicks all played well for Pinkerton.
Pinkerton blanks Dover
The varsity Lady Astros got on the board first and never looked back, topping Dover, 3-0 last week.
The first Pinkerton goal was from Rebecca McGrath, assisted by Haley Hicks. In the second half, Maggie Cohoon, with an assist from Katy Ann Grochmal, and Maura Kane, assisted by Haley Hicks, added goals for the win.
Season ends in tie
The varsity Lady Astros traveled to Nashua South on Friday for their last regular season game.
Gabby Guinto, assisted by Rebecca McGrath, scored in the first half.
Although the Astros carried the play for much of the game, South scored on their one good opportunity in the second half and Pinkerton could not find the back of the net again in regulation or overtime. The game ended in a 1-1 tie.
The JV Lady Astros beat Merrimack, 2-1, Oct. 15.
Pinkerton got off to a slow start, but Eva Murray connected with Marissa Clark, who put one away in the middle of the second half. Merrimack came back with a shot to the upper 90.
But the junior Lady Astros did not give up. With only three minutes left in the game, Mackenzie Anderson delivered a perfect corner kick in and Grace DiPersio headed the ball into the back of the net. Sabrina Thomas led the way in the midfield for the Astros.
