---- — DERRY — The Greater Derry Track Club’s 19th annual 16-mile Boston Prep Road Race is almost here.

The race starts at 10 a.m. Jan. 26 at West Running Middle School, 1 West Running Brook Lane.

Register online at gdtc.org. Online registration is $50, mail-in registration is $55 until Jan. 19, when the fee increases to $60.

This popular race is a great winter training event for those running the Boston Marathon or for those interested in a challenging, yet fun, winter long run.

The field is limited to 900, and the first 700 will receive a tech shirt featuring the familiar logo.

There will be plenty of post-race food to enjoy while you socialize.

Awards will go to the first three overall male and female finishers. Age group awards go three deep: Uunder 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-plus.

The race proceeds benefit the Greater Derry Track Club Kids Summer Fun Run Program.

The snow date is Sunday, Feb. 9.

Park in the designated places. The preferred parking lot is at the Pinkerton Academy, the shuttle bus runs continuously from 8 to 9:45 a.m.
