DERRY — The Pinkerton Academy Astros bowled the Ray Boyden Kick-Off Classic for the trophy at Merrimack Ten Pin with a roster of nine.
The five-member Standard team had an impressive first game total of 895 and a second game total of 830, giving the Astros second seed for the Baker Match and a bye in the first round.
Michael Komisarek rolled a fantastic 246 first game and a second game of 158. Whitney Leyland scored 124 and 127, and Andy Stock bowled 134 and 163.
David Pierson had two great games of 198 and 178, with anchor bowler Raina Stobbs scoring a 193 and 204. Roster members Alexandria Albano scored 148 and 109, Ritziko Linzi 91 and 90, Briana Murphey 106 and 120, and Jordan Caux 163 and 168.
Pinkerton faced 10th-seed Souhegan in their first Baker match, winning in two games with a 193 to 163 and a 133 to 111. The Astros took their next round in two games against third seed Steven,s with scores of 166 to 139 and 212 to 162.
Unfortunately, the Astros had bad luck and drew a really tough pair of lanes and lost in two games to fourth seed Keene, scoring 139 to 160 and 138 to 145.
The Astros then faced first seed Merrimack in a single-elimination match, winning 162 to 155.
Pinkerton faced Keene in the finals and came in second with a 122 score to 151.
