---- — Riders spin to raise cash for food at Workout Club Saturday

DERRY — The first “To Give Good” spinathon will be held at the Workout Club Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Organizer Joshua Bourdon said he hopes to raise $5,000 for two local food pantries.

Up to 25 riders will spin for two hours to raise money. Late last week, 20 riders had committed.

Pinkerton Academy and Londonderry High School football players recently were named to the Division I South All-Conference Team.

On the All-Conference Team for offense are: running back Manny Latimore of Pinkerton, running back Jon Young of Londonderry, offensive lineman Justin Poitras of Pinkerton, offensive lineman Austin Maylor of Pinkerton, offensive lineman Casey Brackett of Londonderry and kicker Kyle Cantalupo of Pinkerton.

On the team for defense are: defensive lineman Phil Harper of Pinkerton, defensive lineman Hayden Sturdevant of Pinkerton, defensive end Harrison Giza of Londonderry, defensive end Ryan Day of Pinkerton, linebacker Matt Madden of Pinkerton, linebacker Shawn Murray of Pinkerton, defensive back Eric Fairweather of Londonderry and defensive back T.J. Urbanik of Pinkerton.

Girls, hone your lacrosse skills

DERRY — Lighthouse Lacrosse is running girls lacrosse skills and fitness sessions for local players at the Sports Zone in Derry from Jan 5. through Feb. 2 for players ages 9 to17.

Coach Ashley Durepo (UMASS Lowell), coach Mike Boyle (Londonderry High), and coach Beth Stankus (UNH) will coach the sessions and Top Fitness trainers will run the fitness portion.

If you’re looking for that special gift for a hunter, angler or wildlife watcher, this is the place to do one-stop shopping fast and easy online. The site will carry Fish and Game logo merchandise throughout the year, including camo caps, ceramic camp mugs, and a selection of sweatshirts and T-shirts featuring wildlife designs. You can also purchase the 2014 New Hampshire Fish and Wildlife calendar online at the new store.

Fish and Game offers winter archery leagues for all levels

HOLDERNESS — Interested in keeping your archery skills in tune once archery season comes to an end? This winter, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will once again offer free archery leagues for both beginners and experienced archers who want to learn new skills or improve their current skills.

Both leagues will be held at Fish and Game’s Owl Brook Hunter Education Center, located at 387 Perch Pond Road in Holderness. Registration is now open.

Each archery league will meet one night a week, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., for four consecutive weeks:

January leagues: Advanced league, every Tuesday beginning Jan. 7. Beginner/Instructional league, every Thursday beginning Jan. 9.

February leagues: Advanced league, every Wednesday beginning Feb. 5. Beginner/Instructional league, every Thursday beginning Feb. 6, 2014.

To register, call Tom Flynn or Eric Geib at the Owl Brook Hunter Education Center at 536-3954. Registration is first-come, first-served; call soon. Participation will be limited to 10 people in each league. You must be able to commit to attending all four weeks in order to register.

Participants in the adult league must bring their own equipment in good working condition. Only field tips or target points will be permitted, no broadheads. All equipment will be provided for the participants in the beginner league.
