LHS Soccer Hosts Clinic For U-10 LYSA Players
The Londonderry High School Varsity Soccer players are hosting a Skills Clinic for Londonderry U10 players registered in the LYSA Rec Program. Come and learn new soccer skills and drills from these talented Lancer players! The Clinic is on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at West Road Fields 6 and 7. The Varsity players request that interested U10 Rec players bring with them at least one non-perishable item to be donated to the St. Jude Food Pantry. Winter Basketball Registrations
The Derry Parks & Recreation Department will begin taking registrations for the 2010 Winter Basketball Program through Friday Nov. 20. In addition to normal office hours, there are two after hour registration dates scheduled to make the registration process as convenient as possible for families; Saturday, Nov. 7 the Recreation Office will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as well as Wednesday, Nov. 18, the Office will remain open until 8 p.m.
This fun, instructional program introduces the fundamentals of the sport in a non-competitive atmosphere. Games occur on Saturdays at various school gymnasiums throughout the town of Derry beginning in January and concluding at the end of March. Weekly practices are held beginning in December for participants in grades 3 through 8. Please be sure to indicate your preferred practice evening when registering.
The Winter Basketball Program is open to children at least 5 years of age (as of January 1st, 2010) and no older than a senior in high school. Birth certificates are required upon registering all 5 year old participants. Children are placed in their respective divisions based on their grade during the 2009-2010 school year. It is important to note that children enrolled in school, competitive, and/or travel basketball teams are not eligible to participate in this recreational based program.
Volunteer coaches are a vital piece to this program. Please consider coaching your child's team. Volunteer coach and assistant coach application forms can be found within the Recreation Office or online. Without volunteer coaches, the program cannot take place.
Registration fees for Winter Basketball are as follows: Derry Residents - $40; Non-residents - $60; Each Additional Family Member - $15. Registrations are accepted at the Recreation Office, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or can be printed off the Recreation website and mailed to 31 West Broadway, Derry, NH 03038. Jr. Astro's Ice Hockey,
Jr. Astro's Ice Hockey, players criteria, grade 7 and 8 this fall; Pinkerton SAU Towns Derry, Chester, Hampstead; Skating level should be AA to AAA (Granite State Tier I, II) etc.; Full Checking League with High School rules/ The program is designed not to interfere with regular season travel hockey. The team will play games only, once a week from Dec. 1 to March 1. The team is also looking for assistance in reducing player tuition through donations or corporate sponsorships. Free introductory lacrosse clinic at the Sportszone
If you have never played lacrosse you don't know what you are missing!
Lacrosse is a fast paced game that combines the similar activities of other sports such as basketball and soccer all in one sport, and is the fastest growing sport in the USA.
This clinic is for boys and girls in grades K through 6
We will supply everything needed to participate. If you have a stick feel free to bring it.

Time: Grades K to 3, 5 to 6 p.m.; grades 4 to 6, 6 to 7 p.m.
