HAMPSTEAD — The New Hampshire Phantoms are happy to announce the return of their youth program with tryouts for the spring 2010 season scheduled for Nov. 2, 7, and 9.
The Phantoms FC (U13 and older) and Junior Phantoms (U12 and younger) will be back on the field starting this winter. They will be having a spring session along with winter training at the Phanzone Sports Center in Hampstead. There will be teams for both boys and girls in early development U8/9, as well as the U10, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 age groups. There will also be a boy's team in the U17 and U18 age groups. All teams will be competing in the Granite State League as well as playing in various tournaments through the season.
The Phantoms look to build their club program with professional coaching, a state of the art training facility, and a focus on development. When asked about the re-development of the youth program, Jim DeDeus, long-time Phantoms General Manager said, "We have competed at a high level in the past and we are looking to get back to a program with a focus on development and fun for the kids. We have an excellent training facility and the coaches necessary for developing kids on a competitive level." The club is excited to get back into action at this level.
There will be three tryout sessions for the Phantoms FC and Junior Phantoms. The first and third sessions will be taking place at the Phanzone Sports Center on November 2nd and 9th from 5 to 9 p.m. Early development and U10 boys& girls will be from 5pm-6pm, U12/13 boys & girls will be from 6pm-7pm, U14/15 boys & U14/15/16 girls will be from 7 to 8 p.m. and U16/17/18 boys will be from 8 to 9 p.m.. The second tryout session will take place on Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon at Amesbury Sports Park, 12 South Hunt Road, in Amesbury, Mass.
The schedule will be as follows U12/13 boys & girls will be from 9am-10am, U14/15 boys & U14/15/16 girls will be from 10am-11am, and U16/17/18 boys will be from 11am-12pm. This second session is for the U12 and older age groups only. There will be no early development or U10 tryouts on this date. Players are encouraged to attend all of the tryouts for their age group. The registration will begin 30 minutes prior to each session. The players trying out will need to bring cleats, shin guards, a ball, and water. Preregistration is recommended and can be done online at NHPhantoms.com. There is also a $20 registration fee; the proceeds from this fee benefit the NH Phantoms FC scholarship fund.
