Create a winning logo, win cash

Do you have what it takes to create a new Granite State Over 30 Baseball League Logo?

As part of its 20th year celebration, the GSBL is paying $100 for a new logo for the league.

The winning logo will be selected by the league board from all submissions. In the case of a tie, the executive board will decide.

The creator of the winning submission will receive $100 in cash as payment for the logo.

The new logo doesn't have to contain the wording "The Granite State Over 30 League" but should at least say "GSBL" if the full league name is not incorporated into the logo.

The new logo is encouraged to be in the tradition of existing red, white and blue league logos, if possible, but it can deviate from the traditional red, white and blue elements if necessary. Visit gsbl.net to see some logo examples.

Only the winning submission will become property of the league.

Logo submissions should be made by April 7. Send the logo as an email attachment to: saraceno21@aol.com (in 3 different sizes if possible — small, medium and large).

Contact John Saraceno with questions at saraceno21@aol.com or at 571-8361.

Women, sign up soon for winter workshop

CONCORD — Registration is now open for the 2012 Becoming an Outdoors-Woman Winter Workshop, a one-day program where women can learn outdoor skills to enjoy during the winter months. The workshop will be held on Saturday, Feb. 18, (snow date Feb. 19) at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness.

The workshop costs $55, which includes lunch and most equipment. Participants must be at least 18 years old. New Hampshire BOW programs are cosponsored by N.H. Fish and Game and the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation.

Winter BOW participants choose a single activity to explore during the daylong workshop. They can learn how to ice fish, explore winter outdoor survival skills, track wildlife on snowshoes, try snowmobiling (beginners only) or experience the popular 'Shoe and Shoot class, which is woodland target shooting on snowshoes.

To register, download the registration forms and workshop brochure at nhbow.com, email Lisa.M.Collins@wildlife.nh.gov or call 271-3212.
