LONDONDERRY — The NHPSA Eagles U 14 Girls soccer team participated in the Hempfield Soccer Tournament recently in Lancaster, Pa.
More than 700 teams from nine states participated in this tournament. The Eagles went undefeated in their four games to win their division.
During the weekend, the NHPSA girls netted 12 goals and did not allow a goal to be scored against them. The championship game on Sunday resulted in a 1-0 win against a strong Eastern Pennsylvania team, Montgomery United.
The winning goal came off a successful penalty kick by Melanie Roberge in the first half. The Eagles keeper, Bailey Kolinski, stopped a few testing shots in the second half by the Montgomery United girls. Kolinski completed the weekend without allowing a goal.
The Eagles also went undefeated during their fall season play in the New England Premiership league. They placed first in the Championship Division with five wins and three ties. For league play, they netted 14 goals and they allowed only four goals.
