LONDONDERRY — Ski Club sign-ups for Londonderry Recreation Ski Club have been extended.
The last chance to sign up for the 2013 season will be Monday, Dec. 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Head to the cafeteria at Matthew Thornton Elementary that evening to register for the upcoming ski and snowboard season.
The cost is $235. That includes five weeks of lift tickets, lessons and round-trip coach transportation. For $335, participants also get ski or snowboard rentals for the season.
It all happens at Gunstock Mountain in Gilford on the following Sundays: Jan. 13, 20, 27, and Feb. 3 and 10.
Many insurance policies now approve skiing/riding as a wellness activity that is eligible for reimbursement. Check with your carrier for information.
Ski Club costs are discounted for all on-time registrations. All late sign-ups (after Dec. 10) will be added to a waiting list and $25 will be added to the registration cost.
The Ski Club also offers discounts with Ken Jones Ski Mart and Gunstock’s Outfitter Shop. Information on these discounts is available at sign-ups. Chaperones ski or board free. Those interested can receive information at sign-up.
New in 2013 is a five-week program, committed to five Sundays, all day.
Helmets are mandatory for all participants under 18 years old. “Sick Tricks” is a new lesson program offered by Gunstock pros for advanced skiers and riders needing a more fun and challenging lesson environment. It is not for the beginner or intermediate participant.
All local families and children in grades 5 through 12 are eligible for membership.
