---- — On July 15, four members of the Hudson Fish and Game Junior Rifle Team traveled to Camp Perry National Guard Base in Ohio for the 2013 National Matches.
Elizabeth Dutton of Derry placed first Sub-Junior for the metallic sights aggregate, closely followed by fellow teammate Zachary Wambsganns of Hudson in second.
Senior team member Bailey Urbach, also of Hudson, placed in the Marksman category for the prone and kneeling matches, as well as in the aggregate. Dutton also took some category awards in all three positions.
Dutton and Wambsganns finished third sharpshooter team in the metallic team match and sixth sharpshooter team in the any sight team match.
Jarred Dassler of Salem finished his week with his first clean target of the week. In the team matches, the team was sixth combined marksman-sharpshooter team for metallic sights and seventh for any sights.
A prone week tradition is the juniors-only Whistler Boy match, held right before the prone team matches. New Hampshire holds a tryouts match to determine the Gun Owners of New Hampshire state representative teams annually in May. This year, three members of the Hudson team were a part of the three teams.
Dutton was on the GO-NH Gold Team with Joe Nikiforakis of Swanzey, while Urbach and Dassler made up the GO-NH Bronze Team.
New Hampshire did well, with the Gold Team placing fifth overall, and third state association team. In addition, Dutton cleaned her first target at 100 yards and shot a 199 in the kneeling position, her personal bests.
Urbach, Wambsganns and Dassler earned their expert classifications in three position. Dutton earned expert in both three position and prone, thus ending a successful outdoor season.
