Granite State Tennis offers summer play

Registration has begun for the summer season of Granite State Kids Community Tennis Association, a USTA travel team program for ages 5-18.

It includes every level of play and an opportunity to learn the game of tennis, improve one’s game or play competition level.

Travel teams compete for the opportunity to represent New Hampshire at the Sectional Tournament in late August.

The 10 and Under Tennis format is used for ages 10 and under. Newly sanctioned by the USTA, 10 and Under Tennis uses modified courts and balls designed to get players playing the game immediately.

The cost is $175 per player ($20 USTA Membership fee, $50 match fee and $105 local practice fee). That includes weekly coached play, match play, team T-shirt, and season-ending Tennis Carnival or state tournament for teams that qualify.

Winners of the state tournament advance to sectionals in Connecticut.

Registration forms are available at granitestatekids.com. For additional information, contact Diane Phelps at dphelps87@comcast.net.
