Junior Astros fall in double OT
The JV Astros lost, 27-21, for the first time this year to an undefeated Concord team, which has averaged 40 points per game over their opponents this year.
The game went to double overtime before it was determined who won. The Astros offense struggled with 3 fumbles and an interception, along with costly penalties to help Concord in this tight battle.
Young Astros earn eighth win
The freshman Astros traveled to Manchester to take on Central at Gill Stadium. The Astros put on an air show as they had close to 200 yards passing against the Little Green.
The offense was led by Tyler Gendron, Mark Regan and Cam Richard.
The Astros beat Central, 49-12, for their eighth win of the season.
Astros end with a win
The freshman team took on Nashua South in the regular season finale.
The Astros came away with the 46-20 win.
Playing well for the winners were Brandon McColligan, Peter Sweeney, Mason Blanchard, Joe Guaricino, Dylan Barriero, Mike Curley and Hayden Sturdevant.
Pinkerton falls in quarterfinals
The Lady Astros played host to the first round of the Division 1 state tournament. The Astros took on the Broncos from Alvirne High School.
Tyla Mahon led the way with 14 kills and 5 blocks. Brenna McNally had another superb game. She added 19 digs and 8 kills. Brittany Peredna had a 6 kills and Rachel Byrd contributed 7 digs.
The Astros fell just short in the quarterfinals, battling hard against a tough Goffstown team.
Brenna McNally finished her career with a strong defensive game, putting up 29 digs. Tyla Mahon had a big game at the net, recording 5 kills and 4 blocks. Michaela Polk was a strong leader in the back court and put up 6 digs.
Jr. Astros wrap up season
The JV Lady Astros finished their season at the Pinkerton Invitational; the girls finished in fourth place out of 12 teams.
