When the time came to bring out the big routines, the girls from Phantom Gymnastics got the job done.
With four out of six team wins and two second-place finishes, the girls were just shy of another sweep at the state meet, held on two weekends at their home gym and at Pinkerton Academy.
Individually, they had several top finishes and girls who made the regional state team at Levels 8 and 9. There is no regional team for lower levels. After a year of focus, grit and determination, all their hard work showed in the results.
Level 4 took second place in the team awards.
Ages 6-7: Eva Stahly of Londonderry came in third on floor with a 9.425 and third in the All Around at 36.95. Avery Woike of Derry was second on vault 9.35 and third on beam 9.125, with fourth place All Around score of 36.3.
Age 8: Emma Herrero of Derry placed first on vault with a score of 9.65 and fifth All Around at 37.325.
Level 5 took first place in the team awards.
Age 9: Elise Stahly of Londonderry placed second on bars with a score of 9.725, tied for first on floor at 9.625 and took second All Around with 37.9. Sophia Fonseca of Londonderry took fourth on floor, scoring a 9.4, and seventh All Around with 36.775 points. Bella Bouchard of Londonderry took first on bars with a 9.450, beam with a 9.575 and floor with 9.325, and was third All Around at 36.925 points.
Level 6 took first place in the team awards.
Age 11: Suzie Moore of Londonderry was second in each: bars 9.275 beam 9.550 and floor 9.350 and first All Around with a score of 37.325.
