Pinkerton drops a tough one
The freshman Lady Astros hosted a tough Hollis/Brookline team Sept. 13 and lost to the Cavaliers, 3-0.
Molly DeCarlo served well for the Astros. Baylie Scheibert set great during the match. Evan Duval also played well at the net.
Astros eke out victory
On Sept. 10, the Lady Astros were tied 0-0 with the Timberlane Owls.
But Julie Saltamartini found the back of the net for the lone goal of the game and the 1-0 Astros win.
Jordan Dudley had 7 saves in net.
In a game dominated by penalty corners on both sides, the Astros capitalized on one early in the second half. Pinkerton’s defense made the goal stand.
Maddie Driscoll and Jessica Cote played great defense and Nicole Yannalfo made the extra effort on every spot of the field.
Pinkerton tops Exeter
On Sept. 14, the Lady Astros took a 3-1lead into halftime against Exeter and extended it to a 5-2 win.
Julie Saltamartini (2), Kaylie DeCosmo, Brooke Dorval and Jess Cote did the scoring. Rachael Chareqicz (2) and Julie Saltamartini had the assists.
Jordan Dudley had 8 saves in net. Exeter entered the game undefeated. Nicole Yannalfo, Alex Albano and Ally Deyett played well in the win.
Jr. Astros take 1-0 win
The JV Lady Astros defeated Timberlane, 1-0, Sept. 10.
Erin Johnston, Kelsey Weston and Morgan Hazelton played great defense. Kristen Crowell scored the lone goal on an assist from Amanda Szostak.
Astros shut out Methuen
On Sept. 10, the freshman Lady Astros beat Methuen, 10-0.
Pinkerton played well and offensively held control over the game. While defense did not have a lot of action, they kept positioned well and were there for the midfield when they needed recovery.
Amanda Thomas led the way with scoring with four goals. Also contributing were Mackenzie Pierce, Korryn Lima, Corrine Szoskowittz, Sarah Kane and Brianna Becote. Each of these girls did a great job and showed great strength in their shots and control.
