Register now for July 4 5K/10K run
DERRY — The Greater Derry Track Club has announced the Second Annual Run for Freedom 5k/10k beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, July 4.
Paper and online registration are now open. Race day signup begins at 6:30 a.m.
All funds from the races will be donated to Liberty House in Manchester, a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Manchester VFW. It offers transitional housing, medical care, and job assistance to homeless veterans in New Hampshire.
The 5K and 10K races will be chip-timed, with awards to the top three male and female finishers. There also will be age group winners, three deep, in both races.
Winners in the Armed Forces Team category will also be recognized. All runners are eligible for raffle prizes.
The Greater Derry Track Club is a nonprofit charitable organization devoted to promoting running and related activities. GDTC is again sponsoring a community “Get into Fitness” Couch to 5K initiative, a free eight-week program open to anyone in the community interested in training for the 5k Run for Freedom. This race is a family fun event for the Greater Derry community to honor the bravery and strength of those who have fought and died for the country. Celebrate Independence Day and honor local heroes. Registration is now open.
Sign up now for wrestling camp
DERRY — Coach Rocky Bonomo is bringing his Rock Solid Wrestling Camp to Derry July 21-23 at Barka Elementary School.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $165.
