Londonderry Middle School athletes get ready for tryouts
LONDONDERRY — Londonderry Middle School has announced tryouts for fall sports. They are all on Monday, Aug. 23.
Girls soccer: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., LMS game field.
Boys soccer: 3 to 5 p.m., LMS practice field.
Boys cross-country: 3 p.m., behind LMS.
Girls cross-country: 3 to 4:45 p.m., behind LMS.
Field hockey: 3 to 4:15 p.m., outside LMS gym. Bring sneakers and water.
Meet the Londonderry High School coaches next week
LONDONDERRY — Londonderry High School athletic director Howard Sobolov has announced that the Fall Meet the Coaches night will be Thursday, Aug. 26, at 6 p.m. in the Londonderry High School gym.
All LHS fall athletes and their parents are expected to attend. If you have any questions, call the LHS athletic office at 432-6941, ext. 2306.
Pinkerton Academy hosts cross-country tryouts
DERRY — All Pinkerton Academy athletes must have a physical, parent permission form and medical emergency card completed. These forms should be brought to the first practice/tryout. For more information, call the athletic office at 437-5200, ext. 2115. Most sports teams have started tryouts, but cross-country starts next week.
Boys cross-country: varsity (all): Monday, Aug. 23, 8:15 a.m. to noon, new fieldhouse (Room 8).
Girls cross-country: varsity (all): Monday, Aug. 23, 8 to 11 a.m., new fieldhouse (Room 5).
AAU baseball tryouts coming up in Bedford
BEDFORD — The 2011 New Hampshire Black Flies 13U AAU baseball team will hold tryouts at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, and Sunday, Aug. 29, at Riley Field in Bedford.
The highly competitive program that produced an AAU national championship in 2008 offers fall ball, indoor winter training, professional instruction, and league and tournament play.

Hood athletes get in shape for fall sports at camp
DERRY — The Fall Sports Conditioning Camp for Gilbert H. Hood Middle School starts next week.
Athletes are invited to attend the conditioning camp for fall sports (girls soccer, boys soccer, field hockey, and cross-country (both boys and girls).
Attendance is not mandatory, but it is encouraged for those who are able to make it. Complete the required forms and drop them off in the main office prior to the start of the conditioning camp or send it with your child to the conditioning camp. No student will be allowed to participate without the necessary forms: Derry middle school athletic physical examination, and Consent and Indemnity form.
Report to the fields behind the school on Thursday, Aug. 26, from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Individual coaches will provide a handout for athletes which will indicate the schedule of the conditioning camp and tryout dates/times. Tryouts begin Aug. 31.

Take the whole family to Brookstone Aug. 21
DERRY — On Saturday, Aug. 21, Brookstone Park will host a Mini-golf and Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Families (groups of two to four) are invited to play the adventure mini-golf course. Mini-golf tee times can be reserved by calling Brookstone Mini Golf, Golf and Driving Range at 894-7336.
Brookstone Park created this fun family event, which will include mini-golf with prizes for best score, holes in one and more, face-painting, hula hooping, refreshments, a driving range special, and free mini lessons with the pro for kids every hour on the hour. One lucky family will win $1,000.
Tee time reservations for Brookstone Park's Mini Golf and Family Fun Day are encouraged and can be made by calling 894-7336. Brookstone mini-golf rates apply: $6 for adults, $4 for children. No purchase is necessary to enter giveaways.
