Ariel Vaillancourt finished third overall in the championship with a personal best 5K time ever, 19:24, on probably the toughest course in New England. This shows how tough she is and that she came through for her team when they needed her. This year the team finished, overall, better than last year’s fourth-place finish and the team finished better than the fourth-place ranking given before the race, largely due to her standout performance.
Tom Hanlon helped his team to be 2013 Division 1 Cross Country State Champions. Tom was able to finish the race in 12th place with a time of 16:44. He broke out of the pack, which motivated his teammates to get going and finish strong. His performance helped the Long Red Line have an amazing day on the course.
