Derry elementary students get bowled over

South Range club strikes a chord

DERRY — Once again this fall, students at South Range Elementary students are getting bowled over

Dozens of students travel to Park Place Lanes in Windham every week to try to roll some strikes with hardly any gutter balls.

The after-school activity is part of South Range’s popular bowling club. More than 50 students usually sign up each fall to take part in the club.

The young bowlers are separated into teams. Amid the bowling action students chat, help each other braid hair and offer advice on the proper way to hit a strike or spare.
