Sign up early for the Turkey Trot 5K
DERRY — It's almost time for the Greater Derry Track Club’s 40th annual Turkey Trot 5K Road Race.
It starts at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, at Gallien’s Town Beach on Beaver Lake, Route 102.
This event draws runners from all over. Sign up now to guarantee yourself a T-shirt and to take advantage of the “while it lasts” free kid’s early bird online registration.
Visit www.gdtc.org/turkeytrot access the link sign up and enjoy pre-registration rates. A minimal transaction fee applies. No paper applications will be accepted for pre-registration. Online registration will close out promptly at noon Nov. 27. Registrations will be accepted at the venue from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 70 to 8:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving. Free online registrations for early bird kid’s registrations are only while supplies last.
The GDTC asks each registrant to bring a nonperishable canned or dry good item to replenish area food banks. Many depend on these community resources.

Derry Soccer Club has annual meeting
DERRY — The annual meeting of the Derry Soccer Club will take place Nov. 12, at 8 p.m. at the Marion Gerrish Community Center on West Broadway.
All are welcome to attend.
Important issues to be addressed include filling vacancies on the present board, electing a president and treasurer, and discussion of the future of the club.

CONCORD — Bring the kids and explore the life cycle of landlocked salmon, fish prized by anglers on New Hampshire’s big lakes, at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s annual “Salmon Sunday” event on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Pope Dam in Melvin Village. Pope Dam is nine miles north of Wolfeboro on Route 109 in the town of Tuftonboro.
