Freshman Sean Donohue led the team with two goals and two assists.

Cody Anshewitz had two goals. Zack Bell, Alex Ebner, Brett Cherboneau and Noah Davis each scored a goal.

Jake Konstant, Chris Ronan and Justin Winship each had an assist.

Eric Werner and Tommy Diskin shared the shutout in goal.



Lady Astros crush Memorial

The Lady Astros shut out Memorial Aug. 28, 7-0, scoring five of their goals in the first half.

Pinkerton took 21 shots, compared to just five for Memorial. Astro goalie Eily Harris had three saves.

Pinkerton's Rebecca McGrath and Katy Ann Grochmal each had two goals. Haley Hicks, Maura Kane and Meaghan Haydon each scored once.

Assists came from Haley Hicks, maura Kane, Maggie McGrath, Marisa Bulk and Katy Ann Grochmal.

The win moved the Astros to 2-0 on the young season.

Pinkerton tops Winnacunnet

The Lady Astros held Winnacunnet to two goals Aug. 31 in their 7-2 win.

Scoring for the 3-0 Lady Astros were Erin Coutts, Vanessa Hunt, Haley Hicks (2), Rebecca McGrath (2) and Maggie McCarthy.

McGrath also had 2 assists, as did Caleigh Goode and Maura Kane. Sam Breslin also had an assist.

Emily Harris had three saves in goal.

Pinkerton jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, but Winnacunnet battled back to make it a 3-2 at halftime.

The Lady Astros adjusted at the half and scored two minutes into the second half. They put the game out of reach with three more in the second half.





Lancers top Lady Astros

The freshman Lady Lancers topped their counterparts from Pinkerton in three close matches Aug. 27, 25-21, 25-17, 15-8.

For the freshman lady Astros, Brenna Thibodeau and Miranda Rossignol were strong at the service line. Thibodeau scored 14 points, Rossignol 8 for Pinkerton.

Bianca Herlihy and Carly McDonough were strong at the net for the Astros, and Maggie Gildea and Viciki Walder were tough on defense.
