Lancers eke out win
The Astros took on the Lancers at home last week. Despite trailing by 20 points going into the fourth quarter, the Astros put up 28 in the final frame to close the gap before losing, 54-52.
For Pinkerton, Brandon Rugg had 20 points and Tyler Brand had 14, including two threes. Keesha Myette and Jess Farnun each had 6 points.

Pinkerton on a roll
The bowling team hosted Keene and Souhegan last week. Individual standard scores for Varsity in game 1 were: Alex Hadik, 159; Andy Stock, 136; Raina Stobbs, 173; Theresa Lemieux, 204; and Jonathan Pierson, 135, for a team total of 807.
In game 2, the overall total of 1,764 put Pinkerton as number 1 seed, which earned the team a buy in the Baker round and the Astros triumphed.

Astros come close
The JV Astros bowled against Keene and Souhegan.
Game 1 scores were: Alexandria Albano, 112; Justin Trammell, 164; Michael Komisarek, 108; Ben Campbell, 157; Primo Lombardi, 167, for a team total of 708. In Game 2, Pinkerton had a total of 1,412. In the Baker match, the Astros lost to Keene.

Pinkerton boys ready to run
The Pinkerton boys track team traveled to the University of Southern Maine for the last meet before D1s.
Emmitt Smith and Chris DeCarlo went 1-2 in the 55 meter dash. Kevin Davies added another foot to his personal best to win the shot put and move up several places in the state standings.
The distance team went 1-2 in the 1000, led by Chris Poggi and Grant Langevin. Connor Kwiecien smashed his own sophomore record in the 600 by almost 3 seconds to take second in the 600. Pinkerton took 2-4 in the 300 with some monster times, led by Chip Sullivan, Chris Decarlo and Emmitt Smith. Tony Anzivino won the boys 1500 to wrap up the day.

What a wrap!
The Lady Astros could not have asked for a better way to wrap up the regular season. Several girls had personal records on the day.
Kailee Kwiecien ran a calculated race in the 600m with a PR of 1:43.6. Abbey Smith did her part, tying her personal best in the hurdles and qualifying in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet 11 inches. Sammy Goldsmith ran her best race to date in the 1500m, clocking in at 5:09.5.
The best individual race was run by Maggie Barrie in the 300m. She shattered a 30-year-old record by running a time of 41.9. Both relay teams had strong races, running best times for the season. The 4 x 400m team ran a season best 4:18.3 and the 4 x 200 m followed it up with their own season best of 1:53.9.

Astros do well in tough meet
The Astros Alpine ski team competed in an all-day meet against Exeter, Keene and Goffstown and did very well. The boys were second place overall after both races. The girls were third overall.
Race placing was: Boys Giant Slalom: Cam Martineau, 3; Dan Lannan, 4; Justin Puzzo, 10; Kyle Cherbonnea, 14; Reed Mills,15. Keene was first, Pinkerton second.
In the girls giant slalom: Brittany Masse, 12; Laura Moran, 13; Kim Celona, 16; Olivia Fagone, 17. Pinkerton finished third.
In boys slalom, where Pinkerton finished first, it was: Cam Martineau, 1; Dan Lannan, 2; Justin Puzzo, 9; Kyle Cherbonneau, 14; Reed Mills, 15.
In girls slalom, Pinkerton was third, with Laura Moran,10; Kim Celona, 12; Pattie MacIsaac, 15; Brittany Masse, 18.
Pinkerton teams place second
On Thursday, the Astros traveled to Proctor for their race. There were seven teams in race. The boys and girls both came in second.
Finishing for the girls: Laura Moran, 8; Olivia Fagone, 13; Brittany Masse, 17; Kim Celona, 20; Katherine Burt, 23.
Finishing for the boys: Cam Martineau, 1; Dan Lannan, 2; Kyle Cherbonneau, 10; Justin Puzzo, 16.

Astros squeak by Lancers
The Astros completed the season sweep of Londonderry with a tough 4-3 win at Cyclones Arena on Wednesday night. The game went back and forth with many lead changes until Zach Sanford put the Astros up for good midway through the third period.
Sanford scored all 4 goals. JD Dudek chipped in with 3 assists.
Winning streak ends
Trinity put a stop to the Astros' winning streak by beating them 4-1 Jan. 29.
They beat the Astros all over the ice as the score reflected the play.

Astros down Bishop Guertin
On Wednesday, the Astro grapplers took on Bishop Guertin and came away with the 54-24 win.
Winning for the Astros were Brenden Sullivan (pin), Branden Clark, Zack Daigle (pin), Tanner Burke, Tony Messina (pin), Hunter Morris (pin), and Moise William (pin). Jean-luc Lemieux and Tyler Wilson picked up forfeits at their weights.
The Astro wrestlers are now 9-3 in dual meet competition and face Londonderry on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 7 p.m.
Pinkerton grabs fourth
On Jan. 28, the Astros were among 17 teams from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island competing for individual and team recognition at Concord High School's Capital City Classic.
The Astros scored 150 points and finished fourth in the event.
Senior tri-captain Zach Daigle and freshman Jean Luc Lemieux turned in gold medal performances. Senior tri-captain Tim Parrott brought home a silver medal. Senior Tanner Burke and junior tri-captain Tony Messina won bronze medals. Sophomore Hunter Morris registered a sixth-place finish.

Astros topple Lancers
The freshman Lady Astros traveled to Londonderry Jan. 23 to take on the Lancers.
Jumping out to a quick lead, 11-4 after the first quarter, the Astros were on their way to the 45-14 win.
Jaime Caron played good defense and Colby Millsaps led the team with 9 points and several offensive rebounds.
Hosts defeat Blue Hawks
On Saturday, the freshman Lady Astros hosted the Exeter Blue Hawks.
Pinkerton rolled to a win, 47-16.
Amanda Szostak had 10 points in the win. Mel George and Michaela Blackwell also played well.

Pinkerton handles Spaulding
On Jan. 24, the JV Lady Astros beat the Red Raiders from Spaulding, 50-34. Maggie McCarthy had 15 points followed by Taylor Cuomo with 10.
JV Astros top Memorial
The JV Lady Astros got off to a fast start Friday night on their way to a 67-34 win over Memorial.
Maggie McCarthy had 18 points, followed by Andrea Albrecht with 14 points.
Varsity
Lady Astros triumph
On Jan. 24, the host Lady Astros topped Spaulding, 66-32.
The win improved their record to 7-1 on the season in Division 1 play. Mariah Bonneau and Val Martin led the team in scoring.
Memorial takes this one
The Lady Astros went to Manchester last Friday night and came home defeated.
It was a slow start for Pinklerton, trailing 16-10 after one. They lost to the Memorial Crusaders, 48-33.

Pinkerton grabs this one
The Londonderry Lancers made a 9-2 fourth-quarter run, but the freshman Astros held on for a 48-38 win.
Exeter comes out on top
The freshman Astros hosted Exeter Jan. 28, but lost, 48-40.
Chase Spears and Sam Dolan led the Astro offense with a combined 22 points. Both players have been moved up to the JV team.

Spaulding tops Pinkerton
JV Astro Jeremy Dietzel led the way with 8 points and 3 steals for his team at Spaulding, but it was not enough. The junior Astros fell, 60-52.
Luke Testa took charge in the fourth quarter and led a rally that fell short. Danny Courter played a strong game defensively.
Memorial squeaks past
Pinkerton's JV boys lost a close game to Memorial Friday night, 61-59.
Derick Coombs played a strong game and dominated inside. He had 16 points and 8 rebounds. Luke Testa and Tom Lennon led the defensive charge.
Varsity
Astros fall to Spaulding
The varsity Astros traveled to Rochester to take on Spaulding last week.
Pinkerton had a 24-21 halftime lead, but couldn't hold on. The Astros lost, 56-46.
Alex Patrikis had 10 points and 8 rebounds. Chris Light had 21 points and 5 rebounds.
Pinkerton rebounds for win
On Friday, the varsity Astros hosted Memorial, but soon pulled in the welcome mat.
Pinkerton won, 54-48.
The team got 30 points and 4 rebounds from Chris Light, 10 points and 4 rebounds from Cam Welch, and 4 points and 5 rebounds from Alex Patrikis.
