Sign up soon for fall baseball

Youngsville will be holding registrations for Fall Baseball at Youngsville Cal Ripken Park on Aug. 15, 21 and 29. from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

There will be seven weekends of doubleheaders, followed by a single-elimination tournament.

Players must be baseball age for 2014. For example, a player who will be 11 years old before May 1, 2014, is baseball 11.

The cost is $55 per player for 8- to 12-year-olds, $100 for a family with two or more players.

The cost for middle school age players ages 13 and 14 is $100.

Two-day rifle clinic offered in Hudson

HUDSON — The Hudson Fish and Game Club Junior Rifle Team will be holding a two-day small-bore rifle clinic for club members’ children. Those ages 8 to 18 are welcome. Spots are limited, so sign up early. There’s a limit of 14 people.

It will end with a live fire fun match with awards for first, second and third places. A certificate of completion will be awarded all juniors in attendance both days of the clinic. Rifles and other equipment will be provided by the Hudson Fish and Game Junior Rifle Team.

Hood athletes, get ready for tryouts

DERRY — Gilbert H. Hood Middle School will begin its fall 2013 Conditioning Camp for all student-athletes wishing to participate on a team in the fall.

The camp begins Wednesday, Aug. 21, through Friday, Aug. 23, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Buckley field (directly behind Gilbert H. Hood).

All student-athletes must have a physical on file with the school nurse to participate and bring the proper equipment needed to participate.

Official tryout dates will be Tuesday, Aug. 27, through Friday, Aug. 30.
