Sean Kopetz won the 1000 with a steady paced race. Ryan Lynch ran a terrific 600 to take the win. John Davis and Shay Fendone went 1-2 in the shot put, throwing very well.
Pinkerton tops Nashua North
The Pinkerton boys won a close meet at UNH, beating out Nashua North, 89-80.
Connor Kwiecien won the 1000 and took second in the 300, qualifying for the state meet in both.
Chris Poggi ran a great 1500, winning the meet in a state fastest 4:12.2. Joe Poggi took a first place in the 600, running well for his first time in the event.
Sam Webber and Mark Franklin were 1-2 in the high jump, both clearing 5 feet 10 inches. The 4x400 meter relay team won the meet, running a decent 3:46.4.
Astros bounce back
The Pinkerton boys track team traveled to Dartmouth for their second major meet of the season. They were looking for redemption after a loss to Salem earlier in the week and showed their strength by easily winning the meet with 72 points.
Pat Chabot took third in the 3000, running a state meet qualifying 9:18. Zach Cicio took a second in the 55 and third in the 300.
Joe Poggi ran a terrific 1000 coming in second and missing state qualifying by half a second. Chris Poggi and Connor Kwieicien went 1-2 in the 600 with Chris breaking the school record and running a 1:22.84.
Sean Kopetz placed third in the 1500, just missing state qualifying with a 4:21. The 4x200 team, rebuilding after losing three of its members from last year, took second, losing by 0.07.
In field events, John Davis won the shotput, qualifying him for the state meet. Mark Franklin tied for the win in the high jump clearing 5 feet 10 inches.
Pinkerton tops 9-team field
The Pinkerton Boys track team had another fantastic showing at UNH this weekend. The team outscored second-place Bedford by 12 points to win the nine-team meet.
