Warriors trounce young Astros
The freshman Lady Astros recently hosted Winnacunnet. Pinkerton played the Warriors tough, but lost, 50-30.
Olivia Mathieu was Pinkerton’s leading scorer. Ali Davis showed great hustle throughout the game.
Astros lose close one
The varsity Astros hosted Alvirne in their home opener.
Pinkerton fell behind 16-13 at the end of the first quarter, but took a 29-23 halftime lead.
The Broncos were able to cut into the lead during the third quarter and continued that in the fourth.
The Astros lost, 57–51.
Astros Scott Bradley had 16 points and Luke Rosinski had 12.
Junior Astros lose opener
The JV Astros lost their home opener to Alvirne, 48-39.
Pinkerton’s Caleb Godin had 9 points, Fred Payan added 7 and Matt Rizzo added 5 points. Sam Dolan and Ryan Burke each added 4 points in defeat.
Young Astros dominate
The freshman Astros hosted Winnacunnet and, with a well-balanced scoring attack, defeated the Warriors, 46–28.
Matt Mulligan anchored Pinkerton’s defense. Trystan Brown recorded 11 points and 8 rebounds.
Pinkerton runs to first-place finish
When the Astros hosted Salem and Concord, the home girls ran away with the night.
Pinkerton finished with 65, Salem had 35 and Concord 14.
To lead off, freshman Lindsey Woodward scored her first points for the team with a fourth-place in the 55 hurdles. She was quickly followed by sophomore Michaela Blackwell, who qualified in the 55 Dash by running a 7.5.
Pinkerton swept the 1000m with freshman Morgan Sansing running an Open Meet qualifying time of 3:23.3 and placing first. Senior Felicia Dowling was a close second with 3:29.8. Seniors Carli Davis and Siobhan McLaughlin came in third and fourth.
Junior Andrea Albrecht won the 600 with a time of 2:04.8. Kristen Sobolewski and Veronica Sullivan finished second and third.
