Varsity

Pinkerton tops Alvirne

The varsity Lady Astros traveled to Hudson to take on Alvirne and won, 59-45.

Skyla Gorman, Sam Breslin and Brandi Bonneau did a great job on defense to seal the win in the second half.

Scoring was well balanced. Val Martin led with 16, Brandi Bonneau had 10, Sam Breslin had 9, Corina Moore added 9, Kayla Stacy had 8, and Coleen Fortier netted 7.

Lady Astros lose to Blue Devils

The varsity Lady Astros lost to Salem, 51-48, in the opening round of the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tourney.

After falling behind 15-3 in the first quarter, Pinkerton’s varsity played Salem even for the remainder of the game.

All members of the team played. Freshmen Marissa Stacy and Sara McLeman looked good off the bench. Brandi Bonneau scored 14 for the Astros.

Pinkerton finishes strong

Pinkerton’s varsity basketball team finished strong in the consolation round of the Greater Lawrence Christmas Tourney, defeating Lowell, 69-46.

Scoring was led by Val Martin with 13, Corina Moore with 11,Colleen Fortier with 9, and Sam Breslin and Kayla Stacy each had 8.

Freshman Marissa Stacy took a charge and scored two big three-pointers in a row to lead a strong, third-quarter surge.

Captain Sam Breslin received the tournament coach’s award.

JV

Junior Astros defeat Alvirne

The Pinkerton JV Lady Astros beat Alvirne, 45-30.

Faolain Harrington had 10 points, followed by Jaime Caron with 9 points.

Freshman

Lady Astros fall to Salem

The freshman Lady Astros traveled to Salem to take on the Blue Devils.

Despite only trailing by two at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Astros could not pull closer and lost, 29–16.
