Second tie in one day

Pinkerton tied its second game of the day in holiday tournament play by giving up the lead late on a Coventry goal with 29 seconds remaining.

The Astros could not take advantage of numerous power play opportunities, going 1 for 7 on the power play. The Astros were led by strong goaltending on the back end by senior Nate Mitchell, as well as consistent offense from senior Domenic Corsetto and sophomores Giovann Corsetto and Devin Moore.

Special teams power win

Pinkerton Academy ended its Christmas tourney on a high note, defeating a tough Lewiston, Maine, club, 5-4.

The Astros were led by sophomores Devin Moore (2 goals, 2 assists), John Hamilton (2 assists), Giovann Corsetto (2 assists) and senior Connor Brady (2 goals).

The Astros concluded tourney action with a 1-1-2 record.


Goalkeeper was highlight

Despite 25 saves in goal by Astro keeper Tom Gillespie, the junior Astros were blanked by Bishop Guertin recently, 6-0.

Young Astros beat Hanover

Pinkerton’s JV team defeated Hanover, 4-2.

Mike Bellmore led the way with 2 goals. Jake St. Jean and John Polichetti each had one.

Kailee DeCosmo had two assists and Sean Hall had 18 saves in net.



Astros defeat Blue Hawks

The Astros managed to take another dual meet victory out of a matchup with the Exeter Blue Hawks, winning by a team score of 40-32.

Leading the way for the Astros, with pins in their matches, were Nick Arsenault, Jean-luc Lemieux and Camden Crowell.

Picking up forfeits from Exeter were Eric Daigle, Brett Wilson and Kevin Ell.

Freshman John Durant capped off the evening with a thrilling 13-5 major decision in his first varsity match.


Junior Astros dominate

The Astros hosted 25 JV wrestlers from Windham for a JV wrestling extravaganza.

In all, there were 29 JV matches, with many Pinkerton wrestlers wrestling two and three times for a final team tally of 126 to Windham’s 48.
