Pinkerton dominates

The Astros were dominant Dec. 15 when they hosted the Red Raiders of Spaulding and the Panthers of Nashua South.

They beat Spaulding, 72-9, and Nashua South, 75-3.

Recording pins on the day were Eric Daigle, Nick Arsenault, Jean-luc Lemieux, Brenden Sullivan, Brett Wilson, Seamus Dolan, Dylan Barreiro and Nick Messina.

Barreiro also recorded an additional win by decision as one of the few wrestlers to have two matches on the day.



Red tops white

The Pinkerton girls indoor track team ran a spirited competition for the Red and White meet on Dec. 12.

The red team eked out a win over the white team by carrying both relays, 45-43.

Freshman Emily Halle won the 55 hurdles with Lindsey Woodward coming in a close second.

Returner Aeriela Thornton won the 55m dash, with Emily Hallee coming in second.

Felicia Dowling, Danika Ashness and Vivienne Rouge of the white team carried the 1000m. Erin Coutts won both the 300m and the 60m.

Morgan Sansing placed first in the 1500m and third in the 600m. Carli Davis, new to the sport, placed second in the 600m. Both Kayla Watson, a new sophomore and shot putter, and Michaela Blackwell, sophomore, in the long jump had qualifying numbers for their events.

Jackie Wyka placed second in long jump and Andrea Albrecht placed third. Both teams were full of spirit and ended the night with a Christmas carol relay.

Pinkerton settles for fifth

The Pinkerton girls had their first UNH meet Dec. 15. They placed fifth with 28.75 points.

They had four automatic qualifiers. In the 3000, freshman Morgan Sansing earned second place with a 10: 51.2, and Siobhan McLaughlin took fourth place with an 11:27.

Newcomer and sophomore Kayla Watson qualified in the shot-put on her second try with a 31’ 6” throw.

And, a newcomer to indoor track, Michaela Watson qualified in the long jump with a 15’11” leap.
