The Astros got some life when Devin Moore hit Dominic Corsetto with a perfect pass as the Astros pulled to within 1 goal.
Near the end of the period, they almost pulled even when Corsetto was robbed by the Central goalie on a nice back door pass by Devin Moore.
The Astros started the third period on the power play and were able to convert just as the power play ended to pull even at 2.
However, the momentum was short lived as Austin Sprague undressed the Pinkerton defender and walked in all alone to beat Mitchell, to go up 3-2. A few minutes, later it was Trevor Malmgram getting into the act as he walked around the Pinkerton defenseman and put the Little Green up 2.
The Astros pressed near the end of the game, but were unable to convert as Central added an empty goal.
Redemption for Pinkerton
The Astros evened their early-season record Dec. 15 with a win over Bishop Brady, 7-3.
The Astros were led by Giovanni Corsetto, who had 2 goals and an assist.
Single goals were scored by Max Campbell, Ryan Christie, Tyler Poole, Connor Brady and captain Dominic Corsetto.
Devin Moore chipped in with 3 assists and Matt Marchman got the win in net.
Young Astros fall to Exeter
Pinkerton’s JV skaters were defeated by Exeter Dec. 13, 5-2.
The Astros were led by Ethan Landry and Ryan Monte, who each scored a goal. Mike Bellmore had two assists. Tom Gillespie had 30 saves in net.
Pin a win on Astros
The Astros wrestlers faced a balanced Nashua North team Dec. 12 and recorded a solid victory, raising their record to 2-0 on the season.
Leading the way for the Astros were Dylan Barreiro, Jean-luc Lemieux, Dakota Krol, Brett Wilson and Tony Messina with resounding pins.
Also victorious were Brenden Sullivan, with a technical fall; Kevin Ell, with a decision; and Camden Crowell by forfeit.
