Pinkerton golfers finished third in a four-school match Sept. 6. Bedford won with 184, Central was second at 195, Pinkerton third at 197 and Alvirne was fourth at 199.
Pinkerton had two golfers finish in the top 10, Nick Salema with a 38 finished sixth and Matt Barnes was 10th with a 39.
Pinkerton finishes behind Exeter
On Sept. 5, Astro golfers finished second behind host Exeter at the Exeter Country Club, a par-35 course. Exeter led with 194, followed by Pinkerton with 203, Memorial with 210 and Central with 215.
In the top 10 finishes, Astro Nick Salema finished second with a 37 and Eric Byrne was sixth with a 39.
Pinkerton sits at 11-4
The varsity Pinkerton team hit a speed bump as they reached the halfway point of the season going 1–2 in their match at Manchester Central Sept. 6.
Pinkerton’s eight members all played consistently well, all shooting a 43 or less (par 34). But it wasn’t enough against three solid opponents.
Pinkerton found itself remaining in good position statewide despite the defeat as they sit 11-4 on the season.
Astros go 2-1 at Exeter
The varsity team traveled to Exeter to face some of the state’s toughest competition coming home with two victories and one defeat.
Pinkerton was led by senior captain Nick Salema (2-over par 37), as well as junior Eric Byrne (4 over par 39).
The junior Astro team hosted Londonderry and Exeter Sept. 5 and came away with two wins, shooting a 231.
Medalist for the match was Nate Rolston with a 44. Matt Hall and John Polichetti both shot a 46. Michaela Griffin finished with a 47.
Lady Astros open with win
Pinkerton topped Winnacunnet in the season-opener, 3-0.
Brenna McNally had 10 kills and 5 digs. Brittany Peredna hit 16 service points with 4 aces, while Amanda Stikeman had 20 assists. Tyla Mahon had a block and 8 kills.
Pinkerton tops Alvirne
On Sept. 5, the Lady Astros hosted Alvirne and won, 3-1.
