Nicole Gonya scored all four goals. Rachel Wood and Emily Showetts had strong games. Julia Bousquet played aggressively in the net for the Astros.

Pinkerton defeats Winnacunnet

The freshman team traveled to Winnacunnet Sept. 11 and came away with the 5–1 victory.

Nicole Gonya started the scoring 11 minutes in with a beautiful pass from Rachel Wood. Gonya would go onto complete her second hat trick in two games in the first half.

Michaela Forand had two of her own goals and assisted on another. Aggressive play by goalie Julia Bousquet kept Winnacunnet off the scoreboard except for a well-placed penalty kick.




Lady Astros even their record

The varsity Lady Astros evened their record at 1-1 with a 3-1 win over Timberlane last week.

Pinkerton took three of four games: 25-17, 25-15, 16-25, and 25-23.

Kelsey Cummings, Olivia Mathieu and Courtney Collins all recorded 10 kills.

Elizabeth Hicks had 15 points and 3 aces. Taylor Ferdinando and Elizabeth Hicks had strong games setting.


JV Astros defeat Timberlane

The JV Lady Astros took all three games against Timberlane, 25-23, 25-10 and 15-8.

Pinkerton earned its first win of the season. Maggie Gildea played well in the back row for the Astros and also came up with seven services aces.

Samantha Donahue also had four aces for the team. Sarah Hicks had 12 setting assists on the day. Carly McDonough contributed four kills as one of the middle hitters.


Pinkerton tops St. Thomas

The freshman team hosted St. Thomas on Sept. 9. The Astros won the first and second games, 25-16 and 25-20, then dropped the third, 11-15.

Hannah Leonard served well.

Astros dominate Owls

The freshman Lady Astros topped Timberlane Sept. 10 and won both games, 25-19 and 25-21.

Katie Brunell showed exceptional progress with serve receive, as well as her overall defense. Sydney Sandell, Charlotte Bull and Emma Theriualt served great for both games.
