Pinkerton comes up short

The varsity Astros fell to Alvirne Sept. 10.

The Astros had their win streak snapped by the Broncos. Despite the setback, the Astros received excellent performances from Jacob Konstant, Tim Wood, Zach Bell and Alex Ebner.


Junior Astros top Broncos

The JV Astros gave up an early goal to the Alvirne Broncos, then settled in and took the win, 3-1.

Andrew Brochu tied the game up in the 24th minute. Jason Flood scored on a penalty kick to give the Astros a lead that Stuart Graves added to with a beautiful goal headed in off a corner kick.

Outstanding performers on the day were Tommy Wood and Sean Muller.


Young Astros blank Portsmouth

The freshman Astros shut out Portsmouth Sept. 9, 8-0.

Goals were scored by Bennet Meagher (2), Jake Arnold (2), Tyler Gundrum, Josh Rowland, Connor Delea and Matt Morrison.

Cooper Cela, Kaan Cav, Keith Reynolds, and Derek Wilson played solid defense.



Pinkerton tops Spaulding

The varsity Lady Astros traveled to Rochester to take on Spaulding Sept. 10.

Pinkerton dominated from the outset, getting two goals early from Reanna Romano and Andrea Galvin on their way to a 2-0 win.

Keara Doolan played well for the Astros, as did Julie Myrray and Catherine Goodwin. Sammy Mitchell recorded her third shutout of the season in four games.


Junior Astros move to 4-0

The JV Lady Astros moved to 4-0 with a 9-0 win over Spaulding Sept. 10.

Rachel Godwin, Julia Bousquet, Georganne Callen, DeLeah Barker, JoJo Morse, Emily Hallee and Kyra Stariknok all recorded goals.

Stariknok, Morse, Callen, Sydney Hill and Emilie Lalibertie all added assists. Kyra Goucher and Ali Davis kept possession well in the midfield.


Freshman girls top Clippers

The freshman Lady Astros scored two goals in each half on their way to a 4–1 win over the Clippers.
