LONDONDERRY — The four top dodgeball teams from Pinkerton Academy and Londonderry High School faced off March 6 in a friendly, cross-town showdown in the LHS gym.
The battle, affectionately known as Dodgeball: Mack Plaque Style, is in its third year.
“The tournament is in its infant stages, but has generated plenty of passion and competitiveness over the few short years,” said Kerry Boles, Pinkerton’s intramural director.
The two schools often face off on the court, the field, the track, the ice. But this between-seasons matchup
Proceeds from the tournament benefit some “worthy causes” every year, Boles said, but it wasn’t yet clear what group would benefit this year.
“Although the Astros and Lancers are in constant combat year after year,” Boles said, “it’s amazing to see these two great schools come together for a worthy cause.”
