Michaela Blackwell made it to the finals for the dash, where she placed seventh with a 7.71 second run. In the long jump, Michaela was consistent with her new personal record from last week and jumped 16 feet 1 1/2 inches for a fourth-place finish.
Jacqui Wyka ran an excellent 600m race, passing Merrimack in the last 50 meters to take fourth in Division 1 with a 1:42.16. Carli Davis and Ariel Vaillancourt both ran the 1000m after competing in the 4x800. They both moved up two places from where they were ranked in Division 1.
Morgan Sansing took third in the 3000 and set a new personal record with 10:41.56. Siobhan McLaughlin went out hard and moved up in the rankings for the 3000m run. She was only 1 second off her personal record set earlier this season.
Morgan and Siobhan also ran the 1500m race later in the day. Doubling in the distance events is not easy. Morgan showed her tough competitive spirit fighting for a spot and running down Bedford. She was only 3 seconds off her season personal record. Siobhan left everything out on the track.
Kayla Watson stayed consistent with a strong throw in the shot put, earning a fourth-place finish in her first season of track.
In the 4x800, Ariel Vaillancourt, Felicia Dowling, Erin Coutts and Carli Davis took third and missed the school record by one second. Each girl brought her time down by almost 2 seconds to get a personal record for the season of 9:58.54.
In the 4x400, Felicia Dowling, Carli Davis, Jacqui Wyka and Erin Coutts, less than a second off their personal record for the season, ran a 4:24.73. They placed second in their heat and made Merrimack work for the win.
In the 4x200, Andrea Albrecht, Aeriela Thornton, Erin Coutts and Michaela Blackwell were also 1 second off their personal record for the season.
