Keene blanked by Astros

On Oct. 5, the Lady Astros beat Keene, 2-0. Pinkerton applied a lot of offensive pressure to Keene right from the start, generating many scoring opportunities.

Andrea Galvin scored just seven minutes in on a cross from Keara Doolan. Just before halftime, Reanna Romano scored from 25 yards out unassisted. Pinkerton didn’t score on several other opportunities in the first half, as a result Keene knew they were still in the game.

In the second half, Keene generated several dangerous scoring chances, but the Astro defense and goalkeeper Molly Gingras came up big to preserve the shutout.

At 22 minutes into the second half, Christina Ridenour played a perfect through ball to Jo Jo Morse, who buried the ball into the back of the net. A few minutes later, Kyra Stariknok added an insurance goal. Astros’ defense and goalies played hard to preserve the shut out.
