Get fit, join the LMS walk/run
LONDONDERRY — The Londonderry Middle School Trail Walk/Run Race will be held Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m.
The Wellness Committee’s annual 2.3-mile challenge will take participants from behind the middle school, through the trails behind the high school, around the kindergarten and back to the middle school.
The Londonderry community is invited to participate. There will be acknowledgements for the team most represented, the grade level most represented, and the first runners and walkers to finish.
LMS students can sign up through their physical education class. Community members and LHS students can sign up at londonderry.org.
The $3 entry goes to further the work of the Wellness Committee, a group that sponsors Wellness Day at LMS, snowshoeing, intermural tennis, volleyball, kick-boxing and jump roping among other activities to keep students moving and active.

Snowmobile weekend rules may change
CONCORD — People with snowmobiles registered in New Hampshire, Maine or Vermont may be interested in a public hearing coming up regarding the 2014 Snowmobile Reciprocity Weekend Rules. The hearing is set for Monday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, 11 Hazen Drive, Concord.
The N.H. Fish and Game Department is proposing to amend the laws relative to the snowmobile weekend that allows reciprocity for Vermont and Maine registrations, to use specific calendar dates of Jan. 31 through Feb. 2, instead of using the description of “the fourth full weekend in January.”
“We’re making this date change in the reciprocal weekend in an effort to select the most convenient weekend for all three states,” said Capt. John Wimsatt. “Other than that, these are minor changes to refine the rules for an annual event that has become quite popular since it began a few years ago.”
