UNH diving coach offers springboard lessons
DURHAM — Diving coach Robin Kamil of the University of New Hampshire women’s swimming and diving team has announced that registration for the 2014 community springboard diving lessons is now available.
The sessions are held on Sundays, through April 13, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The cost of the session is $50 each or $225 for all five sessions. Arrive 15 minutes before each session. Do not forget a swimsuit and a towel.
Come learn from the five-time America East Champions in swimming and diving, recently recording its second consecutive team crown at this year’s conference championships. A native of Huntington, N.Y., Kamil has competed competitively for Kevin Ryan at U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and at the University of Rhode Island. Furthermore, she holds a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Stony Brook University.
The clinic takes place at UNH’s Swasey Pool, which features a 13-foot deep diving well that includes one and three meter duraflex boards.
Kamil will lead five weeks of lessons (one session per week) open to members of the seacoast community. The clinic is open to all ages and abilities. However, divers must be strong swimmers and able to tread water. Participants will be introduced to proper springboard diving mechanics, techniques and safety guidelines. Each session will be limited to nine participants.
If you have questions, regarding the clinic, payment or waivers, contact Kamil at email@example.com or at (631) 662-1351.
