Wrestling Rebels travel the state

DERRY — On Saturday, Jan. 14, two of the most experienced members of the Derry Boys and Girls Club's Wrestling Rebels traveled to Canaan to compete in the prestigious Cardigan Mountain School Invitational Tournament.

Both Seamus Dolan and Derek Wilson did the program proud as they finished second in their respective weight classes.

On Saturday, Jan. 15, the team sent a contingent to Exeter to compete.

Robert Fahey and Dylan Barreiro brought home silver medals. Tyler Mackiernan won a bronze medal. Seamus Dolan registered a fourth-place finish, while teammates Derek Wilson and John Durant finished fifth.

Riley Cox, Molly Fahey, Jonathan Little, Riley Spellman, Jake Scarelli, Matthew MacDougall, Jake Seccareccio, Jonathan Simonelli and Nathan Landry wrestled well representing the Rebels.

On Jan. 21, a small contingent of Rebels traveled up Interstate 93 to Concord to compete in the Rundlett Invitational tournament. Dylan Barreiro grabbed a gold medal, while teammates Seamus Dolan and Derek Wilson brought home silver medals. Nathan Landry wrestled well in the tournament.

On Jan. 22, the Rebels traveled down I-93 to Burlington, Mass. Dylan Barreiro led the Rebels by grabbing a gold medal.

Mike DeMartino, Molly Fahey and Riley Spellman posted second-place finishes. Derek Wilson and Seamus Dolan brought home bronze medals. T.J. Briggs registered a fourth-place finish.

Joe DeMartino, Robbie Fahey, Matt MacDougall, John Simonelli, Nathan Landry and John Durant wrestled well representing Derry.
