PeeWees soar into playoffs

The Derry Demons Pee Wee team traveled to Salem on Sunday and secured the top seed in the playoffs with a 32-0 victory over the Rams. The Demons offense was potent all day. Jake Burton continued his tremendous season with two touchdowns. David Dupont also had a terrific run for six points. In the air, Jake Lisauskis connected with Richie Berardi on a touchdown pass. The 7-1 Demons move onto the state semifinals on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Jr. PeeWee 1 finishes strong

After a slow start to the season, the Demons won two of their last three games including Sunday's win at Goffstown 14-0. Riley Cahill had two rushing touchdowns and recorded a safety for Derry. He also had an interception. Riley, Joey Lydick, Collin Harris, Mike Horak and Brandon McColligan reeked havoc on the Goffstown offense all day. Harris also made an outstanding catch.

Jr. PeeWee 2 upended by Salem

The Demons visited Salem with hopes of gaining a playoff spot, but the Rams spoiled the party with an impressive 40-6 win over Derry. Cam Richard scored the Demons lone touchdown on a quarterback keeper late in the second quarter set up by a 38-yard run by Nicky Coombs. The Demons finished 5-3 on the year, but lost out on a playoff bid due to league tiebreakers.

Mitey Mite 1 wins on the road

The Demons put it all together Sunday in frigid Goffstown as they blanked the Screamin' Eagles 13-0. Ryan Kittery, Tyler Beaulieu, Austin Trammel and Nick Ward anchored the defensive line making multiple tackles in the Goffstown backfield. Jackson Sullivan and Nathan Barnhart held the perimeter preventing any big plays and resulting in a shut out. Sam Goudreault and Devin Sullivan led the Demons in rushing. Damian Flannery scored his first touchdown of the year on a 15-yard quarterback keeper with 4:22 left in the 4th quarter. Sam Goudreault sealed the game with a 30-yard touchdown with 30 seconds left in the game.

Mitey Mite 2 loses nailbiter

Derry faced off against rival Pelham/Windham on a frosty field Sunday morning. The Demons Nico Buccieri opened the scoring with a 52-yard kickoff return on the game's first play. After the Razorbacks scored 13 unanswered points, Buccieri found the endzone again. Derry quarterback Ryan Kirby then scored on the conversion to tie the game at 13. In the final minutes of play, Pelham/Windham scored on a safety for a 15-13 final. Defensively, Kirby was outstanding with many key tackles. Derek St. Pierre also played well on the defensive side of the ball, including an interception.
