Haverhill Senior Baseball is accepting registrations for its fall baseball program. HSB will be entering teams in the Fall League run by PLAY BALL of Salem, NH. The season runs for six weeks commencing on September 6-7. There will be a division for players who have just graduated from Little League and will be playing on the regulation diamond for the first time. There will also be a middle school division as well a high school division. The Northeastern Lady Panthers AAU basketball club will be hosting tryouts for the 2008 fall ball season on Aug. 16 and 23rd, and Sept. 6th. All tryouts are held at the Rockingham Athletic Club located at 175 Plaistow Rd in Plaistow, N.H. There is a $30 tryout fee for all teams. Teams will be formed in all age groups beginning with 10U to 17U. All abilities are encouraged to tryout. 10U, 11U and 12U tryouts begin at 9:30 a.m., 13U at 10:30, 14U at 11:30, 15U at 12:30 p.m. and 16U/Elite at Teams 1:30. Mr. Paul Hoover of (www.proshotsystem.com) will be hosting a basketball shooting clinic for boys and girls entering grades 4-8 and grades 9-12 on Aug. 9-10 (Sat. and Sun.) at the Rockingham Athletic Club, 175 Plaistow Rd, Plaistow, N.H. DB's Instructional Baseball and Softball Facility located in North Andover, Mass. is now accepting participants for its 2008 fall baseball league. Teams or individuals are eligible to sign up. The New England Firebirds AAU baseball and ASA softball will be holding tryouts for interested players in August for the 2009 season. Granite State Baseball Assocition is running the Showcase Wood Bat League for New Hampshire's best high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. All games are played on college fields. The 14 U Northeast Hurricanes softball team will be holding open tryouts for the 2008-2009 session on Sunday, Aug. 17, Monday, Aug. 18, and Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Lancaster School in Salem, N.H. The 14 U Hurricanes are coming off a successful 12 U season where the team was the 2008 ASA state champions and have qualified for both the PONY and ASA National Championships. The Derry Soccer Club is looking for players interested in joining the Derry Eagles Girls U13 team. Players born between Aug. 1, 1995, and July 31, 1996, are eligible. The Derry Soccer Club provides professional training in the fall and spring through the British Challenger Organization. The team will compete in the Granite State Youth Soccer League, playing two tournaments in the fall and two in the spring. Greater Nutfield Community Tennis will host summer tennis camp and Quick Start Tennis programs with sessions starting Aug. 5 and Aug. 11, with a make-up session Aug. 18 at the Alexander-Carr Tennis Courts on Birch Street in Derry. Pinkerton tennis coach John Pelkey is the head professional, and the program has a one-to-five instructor to student ratio. Players ages 5 to 18 are eligible. Players ages 5 to 6 cost $40 per session, older players cost $50 per session. Additional family members may enroll at a 50 percent discount.
