---- — Here’s a look at the winter ahead in boys and girls basketball and high school hockey for Pinkerton Academy and Londonderry High School.

Fast facts: Senior guard Jaime King who started last year, transferred to Souhegan. Jenna Conroy, a 5-2 junior guard, suffered a knee injury but may return late in the season. Tara Burke transferred from Lawrence Academy. Assistant Ian Horseman was the JV coach at Nashua South last year. Aliza Simpson has signed with UNH.

Coach John Fagula (11th year, 167-64; 31st year overall, 598-136): “It hurt us a little bit to lose Jaime King and Jenna Conroy. But we’ve had a couple of younger guards step up from the JV. I think we’re a little stronger inside (than in recent years). Simpson makes everyone look good.”

Fast facts: Lani Buskey, a 10-year assistant coach, replaces John Barry, who went 273-94 in 16 seasons. The third-seeded Astros were stunned 40-39 in OT by No. 14 Memorial in the first round last year. Kayla and Marissa Stacy are sisters.

Fast facts: Marc Corey is the son of assistant school superintendent Andy Corey, the former Salem High coach. Former Salem standout and assistant coach Nate Stanton takes over for Jeff Gustavson, who was 39-41 in four seasons. Drew Coveney, who hit 27 three-pointers as a sophomore, returns for his senior campaign after missing all of last year with a knee injury.

Fast fact: Eric Coburn has signed letter of intent to play lacrosse at Merrimack. Joe McGrath’s goals-against average was top 5 in the state last season. The Lancers have advanced to the Division 1 semifinals two of the last three seasons, but have yet to break through to play in their first title game in program history.

Coach Peter Bedford (fifth year, 46-39-4): “Eric (Colburn) is a great player to have coming back, and he leads a very good line. Joe McGrath had a great year in goal for us last season and we are expecting just as much this year.”

Fast fact: New head coach Joey Lee was a Pinkerton assistant coach for the past six seasons. He teaches cultural geography at Pinkerton. Lee replaces Casey Kesselring, who led the Astros to a pair of state titles. Kesselring was named the head coach at powerhouse New Hampton Prep. Bailey Walsh returns to Pinkerton after playing at Holderness. Walsh played his sophomore and junior seasons there after playing at Pinkerton as a freshman. Junior newcomer Brendan Murphy is a transfer student from Plymouth, Minn.

Coach Joey Lee (first year): “Gio (Corsetto) is coming off a solid sophomore year and should lead the way. Tyler Prendergast provides a lot of experience on defense. We are happy to have Bailey (Walsh) back.”
