Astros shine at states
The Astros wrestlers competed in the Division 1 state tournament and hosted the NH Meet of Champions.
The Division 1 state tournament resulted in six Astro place winners, with Kevin Ell earning state champion honors at 220 pounds; Shayne McCann and Dylan Barreiro earning runner-up honors at 113 and 170; and Brett Wilson, Hunter Morris and Joey Lydick earning fifth-place medals at 152, 182 and 195. Each of the Astros place winners qualified for the following weekend’s NH Meet of Champions tournament.
At the Meet of Champions, freshman Shayne McCann ended up with second-place honors. Senior captains Brett Wilson and Hunter Morris both had heartbreaking ends to their Pinkerton wrestling careers. At 170 pounds, sophomore Dylan Barreiro wore down his opponent and eventually pinned him in the third period. At 195, sophomore Joey Lydick took fourth place. Senior captain Kevin Ell tore through his 220-pound bracket to the championship.
Three Pinkerton wrestlers, McCann, Barreiro and Ell, qualified for the New England Wrestling Championships.
Lancers top great year
At the NHIAA Division I wrestling championship, the Lancers wrapped up the team portion of their most successful season in school history by finish at the Division I runner-up to Timberlane High School.
Jean-Luc Lemieux at 136 pounds and Will Bean at 160 pounds won the individual Division I championship in their weight class.
Pinkerton takes state title
Pinkerton bowlers are the 2013–2014 state team bowling champions. Members are Alexandria Albano, Austin Caux, Jordan Caux, Natalie Fabrizio, Michael Komisarek, Whitney Leyland, Ritziko Linzi, Briana Murphy, David Pierson, Raina Stobbs and Andrew Stock.
The Astros faced third-seeded Spaulding High School in the finals, which went to a seventh and deciding game. In the 10th frame, the anchor bowlers of both teams had spares to bring the match to the very last ball. Astro anchor Raina Stobbs threw a strike on the last ball, securing the championship four games to three by a four-pin margin, 154-150.
At the Division I Individual State Championship, Pinkerton bowlers continued bowling well. Raina Stobbs won the Individual State Championship, Andrew Stock took third place and Natalie Fabrizio was first place in the Medal Flight round.
Astros skate over Lancers
Pinkerton topped Londonderry, 4-2, in a tough matchup.
Astro sophomore Tyler Poole had 2 power-play goals and junior Ethan Landry had 3 assists to lead the Astros. Junior Brendan Murphy made 29 saves in the win. Joe McGrath had 27 saves in net for the Lancers.
Pinkerton blanks Bishop Brady
Pinkerton Academy shut out Bishop Brady, 7-0. Senior Bailey Walsh (2 goals, 2 assists) and junior Gio Corsetto (1 goal, 3 assists) paced the offense. Senior Sean Hall had 16 saves for the shutout.

Astros fall to Blue Devils
Pinkerton Academy battled hard, but came up short against Salem, 2-1. The Astros got out to an early lead on a power play goal as Ethan Landry punched home a Tyler Poole shot, but Salem scored the next two unanswered to skate away with the win. Brendan Murphy stood tall in net making 18 saves for the Astros. PA defeats Brady on senior night, finishes season 8-8-2...
Pinkerton Academy wrapped up the regular season with a convincing 10-4 defeat of Bishop Brady on Saturday night at the
den. Pinkerton was led by junior Gio Corsetto who tallied a goal and four assists. Junior Ryan Monte, Ethan Landry and senior Bailey Walsh each chipped in with two goals while junior Ryan Day, Tyler Poole, and freshman Zach Pendenza had two assists. Congratulations to class of 2014 seniors Tyler Prendergast, Bailey Walsh, Ryan Christie, Mike Bellmore, Sean Hall, and Kenny Chamberlain.
Astros settle for tie
The JV Pinkerton hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie with Hollis-Brookline. John Polichetti scored the only goal for the Astroson a nice pass from Jack Bisson. The Astros outshot HB by a significant margin, 25-14, but could not capitalize on several excellent chances to score. Chris Ronan made 13 saves in goal.
Pinkerton skates to win
The JV Astros defeated Hanover, 4-2. Trent Parker led the offense with two goals and an assist. Aaron Harmon and Jake St. Jean added single goals for the Astros. Mike Francis added two assists, while Kaylie DeCosmo and Eddie Welch each had one assist.
Astros wrap with a win
The JV hockey team ended its season by defeating Salem 5-0. Trent Parker led the offense with two goals and an assist.
Aaron Harmon, Jake St. Jean and Jack Bisson each added a goal. Chris Ronan made 10 saves in goal for the shutout. The JV Astros finished the season with an 8-4-3 record.
Astros get their first win
The Astros beat the Spartans of Milford, 63-52. Jess Farnan and Keesha Myette each scored18 points. Tyler Brand’s hustle and 23 points helped to seal the Astros first win of the season. Great determination was shown by Adam LaPerriere, Amanda Szostak, Morgan Donahue, Morgan Hazelton and Taylor Ferdinando.
Lancers end with a victory
The Londonderry Lancer unified basketball team finished up its regular season with a 64-56 victory at Alvirne.
