JV Astro wrestlers are number one

On Feb. 15, the Astros JV wrestling team traveled to Plaistow to compete in the JV State Tournament. At the end of the day, nine Astros had placed in the tournament and Pinkerton Academy had won its first ever JV team state championship, beating runner-up Concord High School by 20 points.

At 106 pounds, Aidan Cremin brought home a bronze medal. At 113 pounds, Keygan Nacos won a bronze medal and teammate Nathan Barnhart registered a fourth-place finish.

Zach Vigroux battled his way to a silver medal at 120 pounds. David Parrott took home a silver medal at 152 pounds.

The Astros swept championships in the next four weight classes, cementing the team’s first-place trophy.

Seamus Dolan grabbed the gold medal at 170 pounds. Bryan Sullivan followed suit with a gold medal of his own at 182 pounds.

Nick Messina promptly pinned his opponent for his gold medal at 195 pounds. Ben Trickett, not to be outdone, followed with a pin to earn his gold medal.
